The Dragon of Icespire Peak is a good introduction to Dungeons & Dragons for new players, and is fun for experienced players as well. In this game, our heroes are adventurers for hire based in the frontier town of Phandalin, travelling the countryside, completing different missions. Over the course of time, characters grow more powerful, gaining experience, forming friendships and collecting things that will allow them to challenge a dangerous White Dragon that has been terrorizing the land.

Dragon of Icespire Peak is referred to as a ‘sandbox’ adventure, allowing players to pick and choose what and when they’d like to explore. It doesn’t have a rigid narrative structure.

In a sandbox adventure, the player choose which direction they want to go. Generally, players will be shown a map with several points of interest, and some rumors to guide the way. In the Dragon of Icespire Peak, in addition to the townspeople who talk with them, adventurers will find a message board with missions available to them at the Town Hall in Phandalin.

This adventure advances characters from Level 1 to 6.
